I created this cake by combining two of my favourite cake recipes and topping with a crumble topping. I would say this is almost the best cake I make!
2 cups plain flour
2tsp baking soda
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
2tbs custard powder
1/2 cup milk
1 or 2 apples
or can of pie fruit
Mix all cake ingredients together. Put 2/3 of the mixture in the cake tin.
Heat all sauce ingredients thought on the stove until thick.
Spread the mixture as another layer in the cake tin.
Add pie apple or thinly slice apple and microwave with a little water for 20 seconds. Drain water and layer apple over caramel sauce.
Blob the rest of the cake mix over apple – it will not fully cover…
Make up crumble mixture and spread over the top of the cake.
Bake and serve.
It’s great hot with ice cream but equally as yummo cold!
